1. What markst is
MARKST LTD (“markst”) operates the Verus valuation platform for private credit. markst provides independent, model-driven valuation outputs and supporting evidence intended to support clients’ financial reporting, internal risk management, audit preparation and valuation governance.
2. What markst does not do
markst does not, and Verus is not used to:
- provide regulated investment advice or personal recommendations;
- arrange, deal in, or execute transactions in any financial instrument;
- manage client portfolios or exercise discretion over client assets;
- act as a broker, dealer, custodian, or placement agent;
- assess suitability or appropriateness of any investment for any client;
- receive or hold client money or client assets.
3. Regulatory perimeter
markst is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing on the markst website or in any markst output constitutes a financial promotion under section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, investment advice, or an offer to buy or sell any security. Verus is licensed to authorised institutional firms; the user — not markst — remains responsible for any regulated activity it carries on using Verus output.
This statement is reproduced in short form on every public page of the site (see the standing footer disclaimer) and in the engagement documentation for every client.
4. Where the detail lives
The supporting policies referenced by this statement are published in full and updated as the firm’s posture evolves:
- Conflicts of Interest Policy — independence posture, prohibited activities, gifts and entertainment, personal-account dealing, conflicts register.
- Model Risk — model governance, validation, override logging, and the SR 11-7-aligned model-risk framework that backs every valuation run.
- Valuation Methodology — the published, deterministic framework Verus uses to value private credit positions.
- Terms of Service — the contractual basis on which Verus is licensed and the allocation of responsibility for regulated activity.
- AI Usage — where AI is and is not used in the platform, with the core pricing engine kept deterministic by design.
5. Client responsibility
Clients remain responsible for their own investment decisions, accounting judgements, regulatory obligations, and valuation policies. Verus output is one input to those decisions; it is neither a substitute for the client’s own valuation governance nor a regulated recommendation. Where an independent signed third-party valuation opinion is required, markst coexists with the firms that provide them — markst does not provide signed opinions itself.
6. Updates and contact
This page is reviewed at least annually and whenever the firm’s regulatory posture changes. Questions on the regulatory positioning of markst should be directed to [email protected].
